Founded in 1972 and located in the pastoral, serene Annapolis Valley, the Ashrama maintains a temple, Sri Arunachala Ramana Mandiram, and retreat facilities with guest rooms for individuals and
families who wish to deepen their spiritual experience and stabilize themselves in the practice of Self-awareness and surrender. The retreat is open to all, regardless of religious belief or creed - even to those of no particular faith who sincerely seek peace.
Although facilities are normally available from May to October, occasionally visitors can be accommodated during the winter months.
Arunachala Ashrama is a non-profit organization serving the needs of sincere seekers in an informal, friendly environment. In the same manner that prevails in Sri Ramana Maharshi's Ashrama in India, food and accommodation is provided to friends and guests without any formal rate of charge. The Ashrama does accept donations from those who value its work and ideals.
Residence at the Nova Scotia Arunachala Ashrama
The Nova Scotia Ashrama does accommodate aspirants who are serious
about spiritual practice and would like to benefit from a longer stay. These residents are encouraged to attend the daily programs in the Temple and are required to assist with some Ashrama work for a few hours daily.
