अरुणाच्हल निवेदनम्
Aruṇāchala Nivedanam
अरुणाचल हे स्मरमि त्वाम् अरुणाचल हे नममि त्वाम् अरुणाचल हे भजमि त्वाम् ॥ १ ॥
aruṇāchala he smarami tvam
aruṇāchala he namami tvam
aruṇāchala he bhajami tvam
aruṇāchala he namami tvam
aruṇāchala he bhajami tvam
Oh, Aruṇāchala, I remember You,
Oh, Aruṇāchala, I bow down to You,
Oh, Aruṇāchala, I take refuge in You.
Oh, Aruṇāchala, I bow down to You,
Oh, Aruṇāchala, I take refuge in You.
त्वम् हि शरणम् त्वम् हि शरणम् । त्वम् हि शरणम् मे अरुणाचलम्। ॥ २ ॥
tvam hi śaraṇam tvam he śaraṇam,
tvam hi śaraṇam me Aruṇāchalam.
tvam hi śaraṇam me Aruṇāchalam.
You are my shelter, You are my shelter
Oh Aruṇāchala, You are my only shelter
Oh Aruṇāchala, You are my only shelter
पश्यामि विश्वम् तव चिस्मरणे:न भवामि शान्तम् तव संस्मरणेन ॥ ३ ॥
paśyāmi viśvam tava cismareṇena,
bhavāmi śāntam tava saṃsmaraṇena.
bhavāmi śāntam tava saṃsmaraṇena.
तवास्ति रूपम् किम् अरूपम् । जानामि त्वम् हि शिवस्वरूपम् ॥ ४ ॥
tavāsti rūpam kim arūpam
jānāmi tvam hi śivasvarūpam.
jānāmi tvam hi śivasvarūpam.
What is Your form? Are you without form?
I only know that You are the embodiment
of auspiciousness
यदा व्र्त्तिर् बाह्या अखिला हि माया । अन्तर्गतिह् सा सदा सत्स्वरूपा ॥ ५ ॥
yadā vrttir bāhyā akhilā hi māyā,
antargatih sā sadā satsvarūpā.

When the modifications of the mind are extroverted, (I see) the whole play of Maya. When the mind is introverted it experiences the real state of Being.
समस्तविश्वम् तव ज्योतिः रूपम् । कुरु माम् गुरो तव पादपुस्पम् ॥ ६ ॥
samastaviśvam tava jyotih rūpam.
kuru mām guro tava pādapuspam.
kuru mām guro tava pādapuspam.
The whole universe is the form of Your light.
Oh Guru, make me a flower at Your feet.
Oh Guru, make me a flower at Your feet.
न दीपेनविना कदापि हि छाया । त्वया विना तिस्थति कुत्र माया
na dīpenavinā kadāpi hi chhāyā,
tvayā vinā tisthati kutra māyā.
tvayā vinā tisthati kutra māyā.
Without a lamp (source of light) there cannot be a shadow.
Without You, where can maya stay ?

हे ज्नानज्योति त्वम् सर्व ह्र्दयम् । त्वम् अरूपो हि रूपम् हे ममात्मम् ॥ ८ ॥
he jnānajyoti tvam sarva hrdayam,
tvam arūpo hi rūpam he mamātmam.
tvam arūpo hi rūpam he mamātmam.
Oh Light of Knowledge, You are the core of existence in everything.
Oh my Self, You become form, though You are formless.
