Raj K.Sharma passed on peacefully in VG Hospital in Halifax, on Dec. 29, 2023 at the age of 90. She was a loving wife to Janak Sharma for 67 years, and mother of Anil (&Vijaya), Atul (&Celia) and Arun (&Aileen). We called her Auntie and her devotion to Bhagavan started in Nova Scotia where she lived for 5 decades before moving to Ottawa to stay close to her son Dr.Anil Sharma. She returned back to Nova Scotia with her family in 2021. She was a gentle soul and delighted the Ottawa devotees with her delicious treats, laughter and optimism.

I met Mrs. Raj Sharma, I was introduced to her culinary excellence. I recall visiting Anil at his new house and clinic somewhere in the vicinity of Kedji Park, with Dennis. Anil asked me what I would like to have for lunch and he named a few exotic northern dishes. I thought he was kidding and I jokingly said, how about "Dahi Vada". I was surprised when he said he could, but there wasn't enough defrosting time for it.

Anil, a young, busy medical doctor, lived far from home and in her loving way, she had cooked, froze and labelled every container of different varieties of food for him . His fridge was well stocked, always.

The food I had that day and many other times later, introduced me to her. I met her on my later visits. An elegant, well groomed lady with a warm heart and spirit of adventure.

As soon as they retired, they bought an RV and went on exploring Canada. When finally age caught up with her body, her young spirit remained intact.

I would like to think that she is in a brand new RV, and exploring some other regions. She will always be remembered by many of us for gifting the Ramana family in North America with her son , also full of love, laughter and warmth, just like her.
