śrī ramaṇamantra matṟkāstavaḥ

translation

  1. I salute you Ramana, the purusha denoted by ‘om tat sat’, who is the Lord of my heart, the form of bliss innermost and of gentle nature, the Lord of my self; who is in human form to destroy the afflictions of the devotees.
  2. I salute you Ramana, the lord of my heart, one who is ever new, always present and the most ancient person and existing in all beings, who is ominiscient and is the Death of death.
  3. I salute you Ramana, the lord of my heart, the preceptor of preceptors, devoid of birth and the foremost Lord; the only refuge for those who seek liberation; and who instructs the world of devotees through silence.
  4. I salute you Ramana, the lord of my heart, who bears with ease the burden of the devotees, is by nature, an ocean of compassion towards the distressed people and remains indifferent towards their ignorance and sins.
  5. I salute you Ramana, the lord of my heart, the resort of all the sentient and insentient; luminous with majesty and tranquility, the one to be praised, yet unmoved by all the praises.
  6. I salute you Ramana, the lord of my heart, the best one, beyond darkness (or ignorance), the dearest to all the devotees and who bestows tranquility with a sweet smile.
  7. I salute you Ramana, the lord of my heart, who bestows effulgence of knowledge to the minds of the wise, remains hidden in the hearts of all beings, who is the immeasurable and yet visible to infinite eyes.
  8. I salute you Ramana, the lord of my heart. Who sees all being, equally without distinguishing the rich and the poor, and who is ever in one’s own state of contemplation.
  9. I salute you Ramana, the lord of my heart, the personification of bliss Supreme, who generates devotion among his adherents by his very sight, and the mantrika who uproots the evil of ignorance.
  10. I salute you Ramana, the lord of my heart. Who protects all the people with different views, preaches the greatness of devotion and bestows clarity of thought to those who worship.
  11. I salute you Ramana, the lord of my heart, who with the name ending with the pleasing sound Na, bestows divine happiness of the Self and enormous strength of courage.
  12. Since you alone are my soul, I have nothing to say, Do as you wish with me, I salute you Ramana,
